Tom Hardy Releases Long-Awaited Rap Album With Czarface

Actor Tom Hardy has released his long-awaited rap album with hip-hop group Czarface.

Titled “Czarface Meets Frankie Pulitzer,” the 15-track album was released Friday and features artists including Busta Rhymes, Method Man and EL-P. Hardy performs under the name Frankie Pulitzer.

The album is filled with references to movies, comic books and popular culture. On “Grim-Visaged War,” Hardy delivers Shakespeare’s famous “Richard III” monologue in the deep, gravelly voice he used for Bane in “The Dark Knight Rises.”

Another track, “Raw Forever,” references films including “Bringing Out the Dead” and “Dog Day Afternoon,” as well as actors Nicolas Cage and Willem Dafoe and the Marvel villain Doctor Doom.

On “Mad Technology,” Hardy draws on Stephen King stories, including “Cujo,” while “Gnawing at My Rhyme Like a Poisonous Rat” includes references to “Titanic,” “The Matrix” and the New England Patriots.

The album has reportedly been in development since at least 2021. Hardy has also cited Busta Rhymes, Method Man, Redman and James Brown as influences on the distinctive voice he uses for his performances.
