Will Ferrell film paused when son Magnus was born, says musician

Magnus Ferrell says production on his father Will Ferrell's 2005 comedy Kicking & Screaming was temporarily halted when his mother, Viveca Paulin, went into labor with him.

Speaking to E! News, Magnus said the interruption happened during filming. "Kicking & Screaming had to be paused during filming because my mom went into labor with me," he said.

Magnus, the eldest of Will Ferrell and Viveca Paulin's three sons, was born on March 7, 2004. Will was filming the soccer comedy, in which he stars alongside Robert Duvall and Kate Walsh.

Although Kicking & Screaming received mixed reviews and only narrowly recovered its reported $45 million budget at the box office, it was released during a successful period in Ferrell's career that also included Elf and Anchorman.

Magnus studied acting at the University of Southern California but has since focused on music. He released his single "Asleep Talking" in April and recently received a mention on Michelle Obama's IMO podcast through his father.
