Carla Jeffery’s Family Denies Drugs Played Role in Disney Star’s Death


Actress Carla Jeffery’s family has denied speculation that drugs contributed to her death, saying the Disney Channel star “did not do drugs.”

Jeffery, known for her roles in Disney’s Zombies, Shake It Up and Good Luck Charlie, as well as Curb Your Enthusiasm, died Wednesday at age 33. Her cause of death has not been announced.

According to TMZ, Jeffery’s family is waiting for the results of her autopsy before commenting further on the circumstances of her death.

Her longtime manager, Carla Alexander, announced Jeffery’s death on Instagram and asked for privacy for her family and loved ones.

“For more than 20 years, we had the privilege of watching her grow into a beautiful, vibrant, and incredibly talented woman whose radiant smile could light up any room,” Alexander wrote.

Jeffery’s former Zombies co-star Milo Manheim paid tribute to her, calling her “the sweetest person I have ever met.”

Her twin brother, actor Carlon Jeffery, also shared a final text exchange with his sister. In his message, he praised her resilience and infectious smile and told her, “You are truly a light that shines bright.”

No official cause of death has been released pending the autopsy results.
