During an appearance on Kylie Kelce’s Not Gonna Lie podcast, Bullock said her 12-year-old daughter, Laila, has encouraged her to start dating. Laila’s main requirement, Bullock joked, is that any potential partner should be able to “get stuff” for her and her 16-year-old brother, Louis.
Bullock and Randall were together from 2015 until his death in August 2023 at age 57. Randall had privately battled amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) for about three years.
Bullock said her children remain her top priority and have influenced the acting projects she chooses. She took a step back from acting in recent years to focus on her family and care for Randall during his illness.
“My kids are my everything,” Bullock said. “If it doesn’t work for them and my time with them, then I’m not doing it.”
The Oscar-winning actress is now returning to the big screen in Practical Magic 2, which is scheduled for release September 10. She said working again was partly motivated by her close relationship with co-star Nicole Kidman, describing them as “two halves of a whole.”
Bullock also reflected on her 2000 comedy Miss Congeniality. She recalled the difficult conditions during filming in Austin, including 100-degree temperatures, but said the cast and crew were focused on making audiences laugh.
Discussing the film’s famous makeover scene, Bullock said she did not feel attractive while wearing Gracie Hart’s tight lavender Hervé Léger dress. She joked that the outfit was already like “a walking Spanx,” and she wore additional shapewear underneath.
Bullock said she rarely feels “hot” when she leaves the house, adding that she feels most attractive in casual clothes after waking up—usually when she is around her children.
