Cole Hauser, Taylor Sheridan Reportedly Clash Again Behind the Scenes

Tensions between Yellowstone actor Cole Hauser and creator Taylor Sheridan are reportedly escalating, with the pair allegedly involved in another heated confrontation behind the scenes.

According to the Daily Mail, Hauser and Sheridan have clashed over the years, with sources describing their personalities as sharply different. One insider characterized Sheridan as direct and demanding, while describing Hauser as more relaxed and easygoing.

The report also suggested that Sheridan may be frustrated by Hauser’s success as an actor. Hauser, 51, is best known for playing Rip Wheeler on Yellowstone and its spinoff projects, while Sheridan moved from acting into writing, producing and directing.

Another source claimed Hauser generally avoids prolonged disagreements with Sheridan because he is grateful for his role and respects the showrunner. The insider said Hauser is quick to apologize when conflicts arise.

Hauser appeared to allude to behind-the-scenes challenges during a Filmside interview in July. Discussing working without Sheridan present, he said the cast and crew had to “put my head down and work” and figure out how to perform and tell the story with the resources available.

The comments reportedly raised questions about the working relationship on the show.

Hauser and Sheridan have worked together since 2017. Hauser previously acknowledged in a 2022 Men’s Journal interview that the two had gotten into a fight the second time they met, though he did not reveal details.

Their professional relationship also became entangled in a legal dispute in 2023 involving their competing coffee brands. Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch objected to the logo used by Hauser’s Free Rein Coffee, alleging it was too similar to its own. The lawsuit was dismissed in January 2024, and neither publicly commented on the matter.

The latest claims of tension have not been independently confirmed by either Hauser or Sheridan.
