Married at First Sight UK Star Holly Ditchfield Mourns Twin Sons After Tragic Premature Birth

Married at First Sight UK star Holly Ditchfield is mourning the loss of her twin baby boys, Georgie and Marley, after they were born extremely prematurely.

Ditchfield, 31, shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram on Saturday, September 5. She said she gave birth to the twins on August 26, when she was just 23 weeks and five days pregnant.

The boys survived for nine days before dying just hours apart.

“Our darling Georgie peacefully passed away” at 1 p.m. on September 3, Ditchfield wrote. “Then, at 5 a.m. on September 4, his beautiful brother Marley followed him.”

She shared a photograph of herself and her partner, Aaron Summers, holding one of their babies in a hospital chair.

“My boys both took their final breaths in the arms of me and their daddy,” she wrote. “There is no greater privilege, and no greater pain, than holding your children as they leave this world.”

Despite the devastating loss, Ditchfield said she would treasure the nine days she spent with her sons and would relive that time “over and over again.”

“My boys are together again now, just as they should be,” she wrote. “Nothing could ever prepare you for losing your children.”

Ditchfield also spoke about the physical and emotional impact of losing her babies.

“My body feels different. It feels like a part of me is no longer here, because a part of me truly isn’t,” she said. “I miss my boys more than words could ever explain.”

She said she had dreamed of watching Georgie and Marley grow up, hearing their voices, seeing their first steps and watching them build the lives they deserved.

The reality star, who is also a mother to a 16-year-old son and a 12-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, thanked her twin boys for giving her and Summers what she described as “the most precious nine days of our lives.”

Later, Ditchfield used her Instagram Stories to thank people who had reached out to her and Summers following the twins’ deaths.

“I honestly just don’t know what to say,” she wrote. “I’m struggling to find the words, struggling to process everything and struggling to accept this is actually our reality.”

She described moments when she felt as though she might wake up from a nightmare, only to remember that her sons were not coming home.

“There are no words for the pain we are feeling right now,” she said. “We are just trying to take each minute, each hour and each day as it comes.”

Several of Ditchfield’s fellow reality stars offered their condolences online.

Married at First Sight UK’s Helen Johnson wrote that she was heartbroken for Ditchfield and sent her love and support. Fellow star Amy Kenyon also shared her sympathy, telling Ditchfield that she was “here if you need me, always.”

Ditchfield’s posts have prompted an outpouring of support as she and Summers begin to cope with the loss of their two sons.
