Kit Harington Addresses Possible MCU Return as Black Knight

Kit Harington has addressed the possibility of returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Dane Whitman, also known as Black Knight, following his debut in 2021’s Eternals.

Speaking to MovieWeb, Harington said he would like to reprise the role but indicated that he is not aware of any current plans for the character.

“I’d love to. I don’t think there’s any plan to,” Harington said. He added that he considers Dane a “wicked character,” particularly because of the Ebony Blade and its corrupting influence.

In the post-credits scene of Eternals, Dane discovers the Ebony Blade, teasing his eventual transformation into the Black Knight. The weapon’s dark powers and Dane’s potential struggle with addiction could provide a deeper storyline if the character returns.

Despite Harington’s interest, Marvel Studios has not announced a sequel to Eternals or confirmed Black Knight’s next appearance. The film received mixed reviews and remains one of the MCU’s more divisive entries, leaving the future of its characters uncertain.

Dane could potentially return in an Eternals sequel or appear in another MCU project. His supernatural connections could also make him a natural fit for projects involving characters such as Blade or Moon Knight, as well as the rumored Midnight Suns.

For now, Harington’s comments suggest that the door remains open, but Marvel has yet to reveal what comes next for Black Knight.
