Natalie Portman Welcomes Her Third Baby in Paris

Natalie Portman has welcomed her third child, marking a new chapter for the Oscar-winning actress and her family.

Portman, 45, gave birth to her first baby with her partner, Tanguy Destable, in Paris last month, according to a source who spoke to PEOPLE. The newborn joins Portman’s two older children: 15-year-old son Aleph and 9-year-old daughter Amalia, whom she shares with her ex-husband, director and choreographer Benjamin Millepied.

The actress publicly announced her pregnancy in April during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. At the time, Portman said she and Destable were “very excited” and described the pregnancy as a “privilege and a miracle.”

A More Peaceful Pregnancy

Portman said this pregnancy felt different from her earlier experiences. Rather than feeling overwhelmed, she described it as a calmer and more meaningful time in her life.

“There is a gratitude that when you’re young, you don’t necessarily grasp,” she said.

She also said that knowing herself better and being more selective about the people and energy around her had made the experience especially special.

Portman added that she believed this would likely be her last pregnancy, which made her determined to enjoy each moment.

“Knowing it’s probably the last time, I cherish every moment,” she said.

Enjoying Life in Paris

During her pregnancy, Portman kept active by swimming and doing gyrotonics to help “keep strong.” She also spent plenty of time with her children, which she called “always the best.”

Away from work, the actress has been enjoying life in Paris, where she said she was particularly happy to experience the city during the spring.

She described walking through Paris’ parks, visiting art exhibitions and enjoying the simple routines of everyday life.

The Thor: Love and Thunder star even joked about France’s approach to full-term pregnancies, noting that it is generally considered to be 41 weeks rather than 40.

“I guess I get an extra week to be pregnant this time around,” she joked.

A New Family Chapter

Portman and Destable’s relationship was first confirmed by PEOPLE in March 2025, after the pair had been linked by French outlet Voici.

With the arrival of their baby, Portman is now beginning life as a mother of three while continuing to balance her family life with her acting career. After recently completing several projects, the actress has been placing a greater focus on her family.

For Portman, the arrival of her newest child comes with a sense of gratitude, calm and a desire to appreciate the quieter moments of family life.
