Alyssa Farah Griffin reveals she has never had a driver’s licence

The View co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin surprised her fellow panellists by revealing she does not have a driver’s licence during the show's season 29 finale.

The former Trump White House staffer made the disclosure while discussing the proposed SAVE America Act, which would require voters to present government identification to cast a ballot.

"I don't have a driver's licence. I have an ID, I have a passport," Griffin said, prompting co-host Sunny Hostin to ask in disbelief if she really did not drive. Griffin joked that she is a "passenger princess" and admitted the issue is "a real source of tension" in her marriage, adding that she needs to get her licence.

Griffin said she supports voter ID requirements in principle but criticised the SAVE America Act, arguing it could make voting harder for some Americans, including rural voters who may not have passports. She also said identification cards should be free to obtain and suggested Election Day should become a federal holiday to make voting more accessible.

Griffin, 37, married husband Justin Griffin in 2021. The couple welcomed their first child, also named Justin, in February following IVF treatment. She has previously spoken publicly about complications during the birth and the reasons behind her son's name.

The View is now on its summer break and is expected to return in September for its 30th season.
