Beyoncé releases first new song in two years

Beyoncé has released her first new song in two years, dropping “Morning Dew (Donk)” on July 5.

The song was written with Pharrell Williams, The-Dream and Darius Dixon, and produced by Williams. It will appear on the 20th anniversary edition of B’Day, which is set for release on Sept. 4, the same day as Beyoncé’s birthday.

Originally released on Sept. 4, 2006, B’Day debuted at No. 1 and featured hit songs including “Irreplaceable” and “Ring the Alarm.”

“Morning Dew (Donk)” was released with a black-and-white lyric video featuring archival footage directed by Cliff Watts. Parkwood Entertainment described the song as a special gift for Beyoncé’s fans and a tribute to the BeyHive.

The release marks Beyoncé’s first new music since her Grammy-winning 2024 album Cowboy Carter. It has also fueled excitement among fans who are waiting for the rumored Act III album, which would complete the trilogy that began with Renaissance and continued with Cowboy Carter.
