Julie Chen Moonves Says Security Has Increased Ahead of Big Brother 28 Premiere

Julie Chen Moonves says she is not worried about another attack ahead of the Big Brother 28 premiere, one year after the show's fictional season-opening storyline in which she was abducted by the "Mastermind."

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Chen Moonves acknowledged the incident jokingly, saying it was a "trigger" before adding that she believes security has been strengthened. She said she has not heard anything from the Mastermind and feels confident returning for the new season.

The host also hinted that some of her security may be undercover, saying not everyone protecting her will be clearly identified.

The playful interview revisits last season's premiere twist, in which Chen Moonves was kidnapped and later rescued by contestant Zach Cornell as part of the show's scripted storyline. Big Brother 28 premieres July 9 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
