Dylan Mulvaney backs Kaitlan Collins after Trump remarks

Dylan Mulvaney has publicly shown support for CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins after President Donald Trump criticised both women during the White House Correspondents' Dinner.

Mulvaney, 29, shared an Instagram Story featuring an Eleanor Roosevelt quote reposted from Collins' account: "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." She added three white heart emojis.

During his speech on 24 July, Trump congratulated Collins on receiving an award for her coverage of his administration before dismissing it as undeserved. He also criticised the journalist and compared her to Mulvaney, referencing the 2023 Bud Light partnership that sparked a conservative boycott.

Trump claimed the campaign cost Bud Light billions in market value and said he would not want to hire Mulvaney.

Collins later posted photos from the event, saying the evening highlighted the importance of the First Amendment and asking difficult questions of those in power.

The following day, Trump shared a doctored image on Truth Social showing Collins' face edited onto Mulvaney's body while holding a Bud Light beer.

Mulvaney has previously said she has recovered from the backlash over the Bud Light campaign, telling People magazine in 2025 that the experience left her "about a thousand times stronger" and in a much better mental state.
