Julia Garner and Mark Foster Separate After More Than Six Years of Marriage

Actress Julia Garner and musician Mark Foster have separated after more than six years of marriage, according to a source confirmed by PEOPLE.

Garner, 32, and Foster, 42, married in December 2019 after reconnecting through Instagram years after first meeting at the Sundance Film Festival in 2013. Foster proposed during a trip to Montana by reading Garner a poem he had written before asking her to marry him.

The couple had a small wedding at a New York City courthouse, inspired by Garner's parents, who were married there. Foster also surprised Garner by writing and performing an original song for their first dance.

Throughout their marriage, they publicly celebrated anniversaries and supported each other's careers. Foster shared anniversary tributes on Instagram, while Garner thanked him in award speeches, including after winning an Emmy and a Golden Globe for Ozark.

Neither Garner nor Foster has publicly commented on their separation.
