Late Filmmaker Rob Reiner Earns Posthumous Emmy Nod

Rob Reiner has received a posthumous Emmy nomination nearly seven months after his death. He was nominated for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for playing Albert in the fourth season of FX's The Bear.

Reiner, a two-time Emmy winner for All in the Family, played a businessman and restaurant owner who mentors Ebraheim, played by Edwin Lee Gibson. The Bear earned eight Emmy nominations this year.

The nomination comes shortly after Reiner's final acting appearance was released in Larry David's HBO special, where he played George Washington in a comedy sketch.

Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Reiner, died in December 2025. Their son, Nick Reiner, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and has pleaded not guilty. His next court hearing is scheduled for September 15.

Following their parents' deaths, Reiner's children thanked the public for their support and asked for privacy. They also urged people to remember Rob and Michele Reiner for their lives, love, and legacy.
