Matt Damon Reveals His Impressive 'The Odyssey' Biceps Weren't Entirely His

Matt Damon has revealed that one of the standout physical features audiences noticed in The Odyssey actually belonged to his stunt double.

Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Damon laughed off praise for his muscular arms, explaining that many of the close-up shots featured the arms of his female stunt double, Devyn Dalton.

During scenes involving the towering Laestrygonians, Christopher Nolan used forced perspective, requiring performers of dramatically different heights. Damon said Dalton, whom he described as having "the greatest arms I've ever seen," handled much of the physically demanding work. He recalled thanking her personally when they first met on set, adding that "you gotta give it up where it's due."

Dalton later responded on social media, writing, "It was my honour to double @matt_damon_official." Her stunt credits include The Odyssey, The Last of Us, Once Upon a Time, The Fall of the House of Usher, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

To prepare for his role as Odysseus, Damon said he returned to his high school weight of 167 pounds through a strict fitness regimen and disciplined diet. He described The Odyssey as "the most challenging movie I've ever been a part of," comparing the demanding shoot to "more like an expedition than a movie."

Directed by Christopher Nolan, The Odyssey also stars Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Tom Holland, Jon Bernthal, Charlize Theron, and Jon Leguizamo. The film is now playing in theaters.
