While promoting the box office hit The Odyssey alongside co-star Matt Damon and director Christopher Nolan, Hathaway was visibly moved as Goldberg reflected on her career.
“It’s been wonderful watching you grow up,” Goldberg said. “You have just blossomed, turned into this fabulous actress.”
As Hathaway covered her face and fought back tears, Goldberg encouraged her to embrace the praise. “Girl! Yes! Yes! You need to know. You need to know,” she said.
Laughing through the emotional moment, Hathaway joked, “I’d be crying even if I wasn’t pregnant right now!” She later thanked Goldberg, saying, “I don’t even know what to say. You know how I feel about you.”
The appearance comes during a milestone year for Hathaway. Alongside starring in the record-breaking The Odyssey, she recently announced she is expecting her third child. She also led The Devil Wears Prada 2 to strong box office success and earned acclaim for her performance in Mother Mary.
Hathaway is set to remain busy through the rest of 2026 with upcoming releases including The End of Oak Street and the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s Verity. Meanwhile, The Odyssey is now playing in theaters.
