Maxwell Caulfield Shares Why His Marriage to Juliet Mills Has Endured for 46 Years

Actor Maxwell Caulfield says the 18-year age gap with his wife, actress Juliet Mills, has never been important to their relationship.

Speaking on Steve Kmetko's Still Here Hollywood podcast, Caulfield, 66, said neither he nor Mills, 84, focused on their ages when they met in 1980 while starring in a stage production of The Elephant Man. He said they connected immediately through their shared background as English actors and strong communication.

The couple married later that year, when Caulfield was 20 and Mills was 38, and have now been married for 46 years. Caulfield said their relationship developed quickly and surprised them both.

Mills had been married twice before meeting Caulfield and had two children. Caulfield had not previously been married.

Caulfield has continued to publicly express his admiration for his wife. In social media posts shared in 2024, he described Mills as "my girl, forever" and wrote that meeting someone as "golden" and "special" is worth holding on to.
