Molly Shannon Recalls Watching Jennifer Aniston Before They Were Famous

Molly Shannon says she looked up to Jennifer Aniston long before either of them became household names.

During an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Shannon recalled working at several restaurants while trying to build her acting career. At one restaurant, Cravings, Aniston was a regular customer before her breakout role on Friends.

Shannon said she would watch Aniston closely, remembering how professional and confident she seemed. She recalled Aniston arriving with her hair neatly styled and meeting with her agents over lunch, leaving a strong impression on the aspiring actress.

Aniston's career took off when Friends premiered in September 1994. Shannon found her own success the following year, joining Saturday Night Live as a cast member. She stayed on the show for six seasons and became known for characters including Mary Katherine Gallagher.

Shannon was recently honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. At the ceremony, longtime friend and former SNL castmate Will Ferrell praised her impact on the show, recalling that the audience's huge reaction to Mary Katherine Gallagher made him realize the cast had found a breakout character.

Today, both Shannon and Aniston are widely recognized for their successful careers in television and film.
