Pamela Anderson Says She Feels Like Her Acting Career Is Just Beginning

Pamela Anderson says she is excited about the next stage of her acting career as she promotes her new film, Rosebush Pruning, now playing in theaters.

The dark satire, directed by Karim Aïnouz and written by The Lobster screenwriter Efthimis Filippou, follows a wealthy family in Spain whose relationships begin to fall apart after one son decides to leave home. Anderson plays the family's mother alongside Tracy Letts, Jamie Bell, Callum Turner, Lukas Gage, Riley Keough and Elle Fanning.

Anderson described the film as "shocking in a good way" and said it is meant to tell a story rather than shock audiences for its own sake. She acknowledged that its themes of sex, abuse and family conflict will not appeal to everyone.

The actress said she wants to keep taking challenging roles after recent projects including The Last Showgirl, The Naked Gun remake and stage work. She added that she enjoys working with filmmakers who take creative risks.

Away from work, Anderson recently attended the wedding of her son, Dylan Jagger Lee, and said she is looking forward to becoming a grandmother one day. She also said spending time gardening at her home on Vancouver Island helps her think clearly and make career decisions.

Anderson's next film, Place to Be, will premiere at the Venice Film Festival later this year, marking her first visit to the festival.
