Rosie O'Donnell names favourite and least favourite former The View co-hosts

Rosie O'Donnell has revealed that Joy Behar was her favourite co-host on The View, while describing her relationship with Elisabeth Hasselbeck as the most difficult.

Speaking during a game of "Truth or Dare" while promoting her one-woman show Common Knowledge in New York City, O'Donnell reflected on her time on the daytime talk show.

She said she and Hasselbeck "did not have a great ending" to their friendship, adding that they got along until their relationship "blew up on national TV". Their heated on-air argument in 2007 over the Iraq War became one of the programme's most memorable moments.

O'Donnell also said she occasionally watches the clash again, but avoids rewatching a 1997 interview with her idol, Barbra Streisand, because it still makes her emotional.

Discussing her favourite co-host, O'Donnell praised Joy Behar, saying they had performed stand-up comedy together for years before The View.

Looking ahead, O'Donnell said she would consider returning to The View as a guest for the show's 30th anniversary next season. However, she said she has no interest in returning as a regular panellist, explaining that political arguments for entertainment are "not where I shine the most".

She added: "I am a very patriotic American. I love this country."
