Savannah Guthrie posts emotional appeal over mother's reported disappearance

Today anchor Savannah Guthrie has shared an emotional Instagram video appealing for information about her mother, Nancy Guthrie, who has reportedly been missing for nearly six months.

In the video, Savannah said her family remains devastated and urged whoever may have information to "do the right thing" and help them find her mother. She ended her message by asking for help to "bring this situation to an end" and captioned the post, "Bring her home."

The video follows recent podcast claims that a ransom note was sent to Savannah shortly after Nancy's reported disappearance. According to the podcast, the note claimed Nancy was being held for ransom and demanded payment in Bitcoin while warning against involving law enforcement.

Savannah previously took a two-month break from Today after her mother's reported disappearance before returning to the programme. She has said she is not involved in the show's coverage of the case.

The appeal comes while Savannah is away from Today filming the upcoming season of the game show Wordle.
