Suki Waterhouse Says Robert Pattinson Inspired Her Emotional New Song "Weirdo"

Suki Waterhouse is opening up about the personal story behind her new song, "Weirdo," revealing that it was inspired by her relationship with fiancé Robert Pattinson.

Speaking with Rolling Stone in an interview published on July 10, the singer and actress shared that the song reflects the challenges of being apart from Pattinson while they both balance busy careers and parenthood.

The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, in March 2024. Since becoming parents, Waterhouse said their schedules have often kept them in different places as Pattinson continues filming movies.

"That song is about missing your partner when you're away from them," Waterhouse explained. She said "Weirdo" reminds her that even when they are separated, their relationship remains strong.

"It feels reassuring to me," she said. "It has this feeling that we'll be back together again. We can both be doing our own thing, be apart, and still have that connection between us."

Waterhouse also spoke about how becoming a mother has changed her outlook on life. She said parenthood has helped her let go of many of her fears and made her realize she can successfully balance different parts of her life.

"I don't think I have to be afraid anymore," she said, adding that becoming a parent has given her "more love" and helped her better understand what truly makes her happy.

Waterhouse and Pattinson first sparked romance rumors in 2018 after they were seen together in London. They made their official red-carpet debut in 2022 at the Dior Men Fall 2023 fashion show in Egypt and became engaged in December 2023.

Earlier this year, fans speculated that the couple may have secretly married after actress Sharon Stone referred to Pattinson as Waterhouse's "husband" during a New York event. Neither Waterhouse nor Pattinson confirmed or denied the comment.

In March, Pattinson also avoided discussing his personal life during an interview with Extra alongside his The Drama co-star Zendaya. When asked about the biggest secret he had ever kept, Pattinson joked that he shared the same answer as Zendaya, who also chose not to reveal anything.
