Why Blake Lively Wasn't Seen at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Wedding Events

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding has renewed attention on Swift's friendship with Blake Lively, who was not seen at the couple's pre-wedding events.

Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, spent Thursday in Lake Placid, New York, where they attended their 6-year-old daughter Betty's horse show, according to TMZ. It is unclear whether they will attend the wedding reception.

Reports of distance between Swift and Lively follow Lively's legal dispute with It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni. During the case, court filings included private text messages in which Swift said she felt their conversations had become distant and overly formal. Lively replied that the situation had left her feeling deeply misunderstood and caused an "identity crisis." The lawsuit was settled out of court in May.

A source told Us Weekly that Lively understands why she was not invited to the wedding and recognizes that her friendship with Swift is no longer as close as it once was.

Swift and Lively became friends in 2015 and often appeared together at public events. Swift is the godparent to Lively and Reynolds' children, used their children's names in her music, and worked with Lively on the music video for "I Bet You Think About Me." Lively also attended Kansas City Chiefs games with Swift after Swift began dating Travis Kelce in 2023.

Swift and Kelce, who became engaged last year, have kept their wedding plans largely private.
