Colt Ford Injured in Germany Tour Bus Crash

Country rapper Colt Ford suffered a broken shoulder after his tour bus crashed in Germany, forcing first responders to pull him from the vehicle through its damaged windshield.

Ford, 56, shared a photo of the wreck on Instagram on Wednesday. The bus was shown in a grassy ditch with heavy damage to the windshield and front passenger side. He said members of his crew were also injured but remained safe.

The cause and exact location of the crash were not immediately known. Ford had been scheduled to perform Saturday at Tailgate X in Ballenstedt, about 100 miles west of Berlin.

Fellow country artists, including Meghan Patrick, Jake Owen and Tracy Byrd, sent messages of support.

The crash comes two years after Ford suffered a near-fatal heart attack during a 2024 performance in Gilbert, Arizona. He went into cardiac arrest twice, underwent 10 hours of surgery and spent eight days in a medically induced coma.

Since then, Ford has changed his diet, lost more than 60 pounds and returned to performing. He is scheduled to play at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines on Aug. 19.

Ford is known as a pioneer of country rap and co-wrote Jason Aldean’s hit song “Dirt Road Anthem.” He has also had success with songs including “Ride Through the Country” and “Workin’ On.”
