Keri Russell Jokes About Being “Not That Famous” Ahead of 2026 Emmys

Keri Russell says she is comfortable staying out of the spotlight, even if it means sometimes struggling to find designer dresses for awards shows.

In a joint interview with Variety, Russell joked that she and her husband, actor Matthew Rhys, are “not that famous.” She said she sometimes cannot get a dress for major events because, unlike some celebrities in their neighborhood, they do not attract much public attention.

Rhys also joked about his approach to choosing acting jobs. He said he bases his decisions largely on money, pointing to the couple’s three children and mortgage. Russell laughed as he said he had “no shame” about taking well-paid work.

Russell has two children with her former husband, Shane Dear, and a son with Rhys. The couple have been together since 2013.

Both actors are nominated for 2026 Emmy Awards. Russell is nominated for “The Diplomat,” while Rhys received nominations for “Widow’s Bay” and “The Beast in Me.”

Stylist Frank Flemming works with both actors and has helped them put together a series of notable red-carpet looks. The 2026 Emmy Awards are scheduled for Sept. 14.
