Daredevil Won’t Join Avengers: Secret Wars, Charlie Cox Confirms

Charlie Cox says Daredevil will not appear in Avengers: Secret Wars, putting an end, for now, to speculation that the Marvel hero will join the Avengers.

Cox addressed the rumors at an MCM Comic Con panel, saying, “No, I’m not going to be in it.” He added, “And you should believe me now. I’m not a liar,” referring to his earlier denial that Daredevil would appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Daredevil became part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe when Cox returned as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home. He later reprised the role in Daredevil: Born Again, leading fans to expect a larger role in upcoming Marvel films.

Cox has now confirmed that Daredevil did not appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day and says he will not be in Secret Wars. However, Marvel has not revealed the full cast of Avengers: Doomsday, leaving some possibility that Daredevil could appear in that film.

Cox is expected to return as Daredevil in Born Again Season 3, which is scheduled for early 2027. The season will explore the aftermath of Wilson Fisk’s time as New York mayor and Matt Murdock’s decision to publicly reveal his identity.

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for December 18, 2026, while Avengers: Secret Wars is set for December 17, 2027.
