Shemar Moore Announces Season 2 Renewal for ‘S.W.A.T. Exiles’

Shemar Moore’s new series, S.W.A.T. Exiles, has been renewed for a second season more than a month before its premiere.

Moore announced the news on Instagram on Aug. 10 while dressed as his character, Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson. “S.W.A.T. Exiles just got picked up for season two,” he told fans.

The 10-episode first season will premiere Sept. 25 exclusively on STARZ. Production on the spinoff began in October 2025, following the cancellation of S.W.A.T. by CBS in March 2025.

Moore returns as Hondo, alongside S.W.A.T. veterans Jay Harrington as David “Deacon” Kay and Patrick St. Esprit as Robert Hicks. New cast members include Lucy Barrett, Adain Bradley, Zyra Gorecki, Freddy Miyares and Ronen Rubinstein.

The story begins after a major mission goes wrong and Hondo is brought out of retirement to lead a new S.W.A.T. team made up of young, inexperienced recruits. He must bring the group together while dealing with their different personalities and trying to save the S.W.A.T. program.

Producers have also suggested that other familiar S.W.A.T. characters could appear in the spinoff.

Season 2 is expected to begin filming in the coming months.
