Elle Fanning Feels Embarrassed Over Her Jack Black Crush

Elle Fanning is worried that her public praise for Jack Black may have gone too far, according to her sister, Dakota Fanning.

Elle first spoke openly about her crush on Black during a 2024 appearance on The Tonight Show. She explained that she approached the actor at the Golden Globes after her boyfriend encouraged her to ask for a photo. Her boyfriend then told Black that he was Elle’s “hall pass.”

Elle later revealed that she and Dakota share a group chat with friends dedicated to discussing how attractive they find Black. In a 2025 Vanity Fair interview, she called him “the hottest man I’ve ever seen in my life” and “sex on legs.”

Black responded later that year, saying he was flattered but joking that he had trouble understanding why Elle found him so attractive. He also assured her boyfriend that “we’re cool.”

Dakota recently said Elle has since become embarrassed and worries that her comments may have made Black uncomfortable. However, Dakota said Black’s wife and friends have found the situation funny and do not appear to be bothered by it.

Elle addressed the situation again in April, joking that Black might have a restraining order against her. Despite her embarrassment, she said she would be happy if her name became permanently associated with Jack Black.
