Hudson Meek’s Final Film, ‘The End of Oak Street,’ Hits Theaters Following Actor’s Death at 16

Hudson Meek, the teenage actor who died at 16 in December 2024, makes his final on-screen appearance in The End of Oak Street, which is now in theaters.

Meek died after sustaining blunt-force injuries in a fall from a moving vehicle in Alabama. He died two days after the incident. He began acting in 2014 with the television movie The Santa Con and worked as a child actor for about a decade.

His credits included Baby Driver, in which he played a young version of Ansel Elgort’s character Baby, as well as 90 Minutes in Heaven, Providence and The School Duel. He also appeared in television programs including MacGyver, Badanamu Cadets and Genius: MLK/X.

In The End of Oak Street, Meek is credited as Kaden Tucker. The film stars Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor as a married couple whose neighborhood is mysteriously transported into prehistoric times. The film’s opening credits include a dedication honoring Meek and Eric Tramone Miller. Director David Robert Mitchell also dedicated the film to his father, Robert Allen Mitchell, who died in 2024 while the movie was in production.

An obituary described Meek as confident, quick-witted and spontaneous, noting that he enjoyed pranks, humor and meeting and serving new people. His family established the Hudson J. Meek Memorial Scholarship for a student at his former high school in Vestavia Hills, Alabama.

Meek is survived by his parents, older brother Tucker, grandmothers, an aunt and uncle, and several first cousins. The End of Oak Street is currently playing in theaters.
