Jamie Campbell Bower Joins The Rings of Power as Celeborn

Jamie Campbell Bower is joining another major fantasy franchise. The 37-year-old actor, known for roles in Harry Potter, Twilight, and Stranger Things, will play Celeborn in Season 3 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

Speaking at Entertainment Weekly's 2026 San Diego Comic-Con studio, Bower said joining Tolkien's world was both exciting and intimidating because fans have a deep emotional connection to the books. He also praised the beauty of Middle-earth, saying it feels very different from the darker worlds he has worked in before.

Bower previously played villains including young Gellert Grindelwald, Volturi vampire Caius, and Vecna in Stranger Things. In The Rings of Power, he will play a heroic character for the first time in years as Celeborn, the long-lost husband of Galadriel.

Season 3 is set during the Second Age and the War of the Elves and Sauron. New cast members also include Eddie Marsan as Thrain, Andrew Richardson as Anarion, and Simon Pegg as the voice of the Balrog.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power returns on November 11.
