Nathan James' Father Found Dead After Disappearing on Colorado Bike Ride

Rock musician Nathan James has announced that his father, Bill McGinley, was found dead after going missing during a bike ride in Colorado earlier this week.

McGinley, 72, disappeared on Wednesday morning after leaving for a ride in Louisville, Colorado. Police said he was last seen around 8:40 a.m. heading toward Harper Lake and the Coyote Run trail.

Authorities found his body on Friday along a bike trail in the Coyote Run Open Space area. The Boulder County Coroner's Office is investigating, and the cause and manner of death have not yet been determined.

In a video posted on Instagram, James said he was devastated by the loss.

"He was my best friend. I love him," the singer said, urging people to tell their loved ones how much they care about them.

McGinley was a former professor of Literacy Studies at the University of Colorado. He was known for his work promoting literacy, including founding an online poetry journal for high school students and leading educational outreach programs.

Nathan James, 36, is a rock musician and photographer who has worked with artists including Avril Lavigne, Travis Barker, Post Malone, Lil Wayne, and Machine Gun Kelly.
