Gerber, 24, made the revelation during an appearance on the “Mitch Churi Chat Show.” She said she has felt connected to the supernatural for much of her life and claimed she can attract “beings from other dimensions in a very casual and chill way.”
“I was told I was possessed as a child,” Gerber said, adding that she has been “haunted” throughout her life.
She then explained that an exorcism was performed on her. According to Gerber, the unusual ritual involved playing a didgeridoo around her.
“Do you know how they did the exorcism? They played a didgeridoo all over me, that’s how they did the exorcism,” she said.
Gerber emphasized that the incident was real and that she had never publicly discussed it before.
The actress also recalled that her mother, supermodel Cindy Crawford, was concerned about the supernatural while Gerber was filming “American Horror Story: Double Feature” in 2021. Crawford reportedly gave her daughter holy water because she was worried that Gerber might become possessed.
Gerber is now promoting her latest project, FX’s “The Shards,” a thriller based on Bret Easton Ellis’ 2023 novel. The series was created by Ryan Murphy and Ellis and also stars Homer Gere, the 26-year-old son of actor Richard Gere.
The two young actors have an unusual family connection. Their parents, Cindy Crawford and Richard Gere, were married from 1991 to 1995.
Homer Gere said he and Gerber addressed the connection soon after meeting.
“Twenty minutes into knowing each other, I was like, ‘Should we just acknowledge the fact that our parents were married?’” he told Vogue.
Gerber agreed, and the pair moved on without making the situation awkward.
“The Shards” airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on FX and is also available to stream on Hulu.
