Kevin Sorbo Says He Has No Plans to Return to California

Actor Kevin Sorbo says he has no plans to move back to California, nearly seven years after relocating to Florida.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Sorbo said he misses parts of California, including Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, his former home and the weather. However, he said he prefers life in Florida and cited “taxes, traffic and negativity” as reasons for staying there.

Sorbo said Florida has also brought new opportunities through his production company, Sorbo Studios. He said independent filmmakers have welcomed him and that he has met people from across the country.

The actor, who is outspoken about his Christian faith and conservative political views, also criticized Hollywood for what he described as hostility toward people with conservative or Christian beliefs. He said he believes some performers are afraid to express their views after seeing others face backlash.

Sorbo is currently appearing in “Elijah Peel,” a faith-based drama inspired by a true story. He plays the talent manager of a rock musician struggling with addiction. Willie and Korie Robertson of “Duck Dynasty” are executive producers.

Sorbo said the success of faith-based films shows there is a large audience for movies that reflect Christian values. He estimated that about 80 million U.S. households are interested in such films.

Away from acting, Sorbo said his family remains his priority. He has been married to his wife, Sam, for nearly three decades. The couple has three children, and they have publicly supported homeschooling.
