Meghan McCain Unlikely to Return for ‘The View’ 30th Anniversary, Report Says

Meghan McCain is reportedly not expected to be part of The View's upcoming 30th anniversary celebrations, with multiple sources telling Page Six that many current and former staff members would oppose her return.

According to the report, several insiders said they would be "shocked" if McCain received an invitation, alleging she was difficult to work with both on and off camera. Sources claimed she frequently clashed with colleagues and staff, with one alleging she once directed an expletive at the show's executive producer in front of the studio audience. Others accused her of treating staff poorly and invoking her family name during workplace disputes.

McCain's tense relationships with co-hosts were often visible during her four-year run on the ABC daytime talk show. On-air disagreements included a notable exchange in which moderator Whoopi Goldberg told her to "please stop talking," while Joy Behar famously responded, "I did not miss you. Zero!" when McCain joked about being missed during maternity leave.

McCain left The View in 2021, later describing the program as a "toxic work environment" in her memoir Bad Republican. She said she felt isolated because of her conservative political views and was also coping with postpartum anxiety after returning to work following the birth of her first child.

Since her departure, McCain has remained a vocal critic of the show. Most recently, she criticized the current panel on X following its interview with Vice President J.D. Vance, calling the hosts "sh—ty and undisciplined" and accusing them of getting basic facts wrong and talking over one another.

Responding to the latest report, McCain reiterated on X that her time on The View was "very painful" personally and professionally, adding that she has "no desire or plans to ever return to the show."

Meanwhile, executive producer Brian Teta confirmed that preparations for The View's 30th anniversary are underway but said no invitations have yet been sent. Neither ABC nor the show's representatives have commented on the report.
