Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton is reportedly recovering in hospital after an apparent self-harm incident that was livestreamed on TikTok earlier this week.

According to the Daily Mail, Hilton's first words after being taken to a medical facility were, "I need help." A source close to the family described the 48-year-old as "stable and alert" but said he remains in "a very dark place" and is "really suffering."

Emergency responders were dispatched after what authorities reportedly classified as a suicide attempt. Family members later said Hilton's children were quickly removed from the home to shield them from the incident, while his mother, Teresita Lavandeira, met responding officers and has since been caring for the children.

In a statement, Hilton's family said their immediate priority is helping the children recover from the trauma and restoring a sense of stability. TikTok confirmed the livestream remained online for about 15 to 20 minutes before it was removed, attributing the delay to a moderation error.

Friends reportedly said there was no single triggering event, though they believed the cumulative stress of recent life changes may have contributed.
