Michael B. Jordan turned an internet joke into a heartfelt family moment by surprising 89-year-old Mary Story of Tulsa, Oklahoma, with a FaceTime call after she went viral for displaying his framed photo on her family wall and telling relatives he was her grandson.

During the call, Jordan thanked Story for the love and admired the collage of family photos that included his magazine portrait. Story’s daughter and granddaughter, Natalie Sims, also joined the conversation, inviting the actor to visit Tulsa. Jordan hinted he might one day surprise the family in person.

The actor had already delighted Story in June by sending her David Yurman jewelry featuring her birthstone, amethyst, after his team learned about the viral video. Sims said Jordan’s representatives contacted the family just days after the clip gained 1.7 million views, promising to do something special while he was overseas.
