“I wish him good luck in finding work one day,” Pentland told TMZ. He also accused the revival’s cast of working to remove Barr from the show and preventing her from defending herself.
Barr was fired from “Roseanne” in 2018 after posting a racist tweet comparing former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett, who is Black, to a character from “Planet of the Apes.” ABC canceled the show and later launched “The Conners,” which continued without Barr.
Fishman, who appeared in the revival and the first four seasons of “The Conners,” recently rejected claims that “woke” politics caused the cancellation. He called Barr’s post “indefensible” and said the show was “rightfully canceled.”
Fishman had previously condemned Barr’s comments, saying they were “reprehensible and intolerable.” Barr responded that she had built the show around inclusivity and accused the cast of throwing her “under the bus.”
