Rumer Willis Moves to Nashville Two Months After Winning Primary Custody of Daughter

Rumer Willis has moved from Idaho to Nashville, Tennessee, two months after being awarded primary physical custody of her 3-year-old daughter, Louetta.

Willis, 37, shares Louetta with her former partner, musician Derek Richard Thomas. She announced the move on Instagram, describing it as a “leap of faith” and saying a new chapter had officially begun.

The move follows a contentious custody dispute. In June, Willis and Thomas agreed to share joint legal custody and undergo a custody evaluation. Court documents showed that Willis had accused Thomas of “incessant domestic violence.” Her mother, Demi Moore, also described Thomas’ behavior as aggressive.

Thomas denied the allegations and said he had never acted aggressively or inappropriately. He also accused Willis of exposing their daughter to adult sexual humor without his consent and alleged that Willis intended to remain in Idaho after moving there from Los Angeles during the January 2025 wildfires.

Under the June ruling, Thomas was granted visitation every other weekend. His visits initially required supervision by one of Willis’ nannies before moving to unsupervised overnight visits. The court also ordered the former couple to participate in co-parenting counseling and communicate through a co-parenting app.

Willis and Thomas confirmed their breakup in August 2024. They began dating in 2022 and welcomed Louetta in April 2023.
