Ryan Murphy Confirms Ariana Grande Left American Horror Story Season 13 Due to Scheduling Conflict

Ryan Murphy has confirmed that Ariana Grande's exit from American Horror Story season 13 was solely the result of scheduling conflicts, dismissing speculation of any other issues.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Murphy said Grande had expressed interest in appearing in the series but warned that her planned tour could create conflicts. When production shifted to the summer, the singer's Eternal Sunshine Tour made it impossible for her to participate. "It was really, truly a scheduling conflict," Murphy said, adding that the two agreed to revisit the idea for a future season.

Grande, who previously worked with Murphy on Scream Queens, had said her role in the upcoming season would have been "very tiny." Murphy praised the singer, calling her a longtime horror fan and saying he would "always work with her."

The news comes as Grande prepares to conclude her world tour before stepping back from public-facing work following months of intense scrutiny over her health and appearance. She has also withdrawn from the West End revival of Sunday in the Park with George, with producers confirming the role will be recast.

Grande's next film, Focker-In-Law, starring Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro, is scheduled for release this Thanksgiving.
