According to Los Angeles County Superior Court documents obtained by PEOPLE, the 18-year-old has completed the required newspaper publication process for her request to change her legal name to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie. Her notice was published in the Los Angeles Daily Journal on July 24, July 31, Aug. 7 and Aug. 14.
Vivienne filed the name-change petition on July 21, listing “personal” as the reason. The request has not yet been approved. A court hearing is scheduled for Nov. 2.
Vivienne is the youngest of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s six children. She has already used the name “Vivienne Jolie” publicly, including in the 2024 Playbill for the Broadway musical The Outsiders, which she helped produce with her mother.
Her siblings Zahara and Maddox have also begun legal proceedings to remove “Pitt” from their names. Zahara’s hearing is scheduled for Sept. 28, while Maddox’s is set for Sept. 14. Their sister Shiloh legally changed her name to Shiloh Jolie in 2024 after turning 18.
Pitt and Jolie’s six children have increasingly used the Jolie surname publicly. The developments come amid years of strained relations between Pitt and his adult children.
