Kelly Clarkson Ends Talk Show After Seven Seasons

Kelly Clarkson has ended her daytime talk show after seven seasons and more than 1,200 episodes.

The Kelly Clarkson Show aired its series finale Monday, Aug. 31, with Clarkson calling the moment “bittersweet.” The finale featured fan-requested performances of several of her biggest songs, including “Since U Been Gone,” “Stronger,” “Sober” and “Piece by Piece.” She also performed her new song, “I’d Be Lyin’,” for the first time.

The singer was joined by her children, River and Remy, who appeared in the audience for the final episode. Clarkson said prioritizing her children was a major reason behind her decision to end the daily program.

“My kiddos have always come first,” Clarkson said. “They’re also a big reason it’s time to say goodbye.”

The finale also included a performance of “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters, which Clarkson said was the most-requested cover in the show’s history.

Since its debut in 2019, The Kelly Clarkson Show has become one of daytime television’s leading programs, airing in more than 200 markets. Clarkson became known for celebrity interviews, the “Good Neighbor and Rad Humans” segments and her popular “Kellyoke” performances. She performed more than 800 original covers during the show’s run.

The series earned 24 Daytime Emmy Awards, including four consecutive wins for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show and Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host.

Clarkson announced in February that she was ending the show, explaining that leaving its daily schedule would allow her to focus more on her children while continuing to pursue music and other television projects.

Clarkson will return to The Voice as a coach for its 30th season, premiering Sept. 21 on NBC.
