‘Modern Family’ Cast Reunites With Ed O’Neill

Several stars of Modern Family reunited over the weekend, sharing photos from the gathering on social media.

Sofía Vergara and Jesse Tyler Ferguson posted photos on Aug. 30 featuring Julie Bowen and Ed O’Neill, who played the family patriarch Jay Pritchett on the hit sitcom.

“With my American family!!! ❤️❤️ I cant believe its been 6 yrs since the Modern Family finale!!! I miss u guys!!!” Vergara wrote.

Vergara also added “In the Moonlight (Do Me),” a humorous song featured on the series and performed by Reid Ewing’s character, Dylan Marshall, for Sarah Hyland’s Haley Dunphy.

Ferguson, who played Mitchell Pritchett, captioned his photos simply, “I love these people.”

Modern Family premiered in 2009 and ran for 11 seasons, ending in 2020 after 250 episodes. The series earned 88 Emmy nominations and won 22 awards, including five for outstanding comedy series.

The cast has continued to maintain close relationships since the show ended. Ferguson recently reunited with Eric Stonestreet and Ty Burrell at his off-Broadway show Tru, while Ariel Winter and Nolan Gould have remained roommates in Los Angeles.

Vergara has also spoken warmly about her longtime friendship with O’Neill, saying she misses him and credits him with helping guide her through her first major acting role.

The former castmates remain in contact through a group chat, although Vergara joked that O’Neill can sometimes take several days to respond to messages.
